Interest in local history has grown rapidly in recent years. This is a practical introduction to local history using Chesterfield and the local area as an example. We will illustrate the techniques and resources available to local historians and explore in some detail the growth of the 'Borough' - a singular and surprising town, of interest both to learners who may simply recognise the 'Crooked Spire' and to those with a wider local knowledge. Will include up to three visits.
